A site some of you might be interested in is http://www.newsy.com, which features current news items. It is designed by educators for classroom use. There are lesson plans included in components on the site. It is updated regularly, as one would expect. Another positive feature of newsy.com is that it frequently presents the news from international sources, so the global perspective is included. Along the same lines, it presents different news organization's angles, which enables students to compare and contrast coverage in seeking to obtain an objective and balanced viewpoint.
