Looks like it will be great for school. The amount of content is cool! The trick would be getting the school on board=)

Check this out!

Hello Teacher,

We are excited to introduce to you the first social network designed specifically for teachers. Sign up is free and once you are a member you have access to all the resources www.teachersrecess.com has to offer, including our file cabinet. The file cabinet allows members to share lesson plans with each other. The website was developed by teachers in Illinois. It is a great teaching tool and a great way to make contacts in the education industry or stay in touch with your colleagues. Teachers Recess was mentioned in the NEA Today as one of the best professional networks for teachers on the web.

Here is a link to the free virtual tour: http://www.teachersrecess.com/animation/teachers-recess-intro.html

We look forward to you joining our site.

Best Regards,

The Teachers Recess Team

We can make propaganda posters...instead of summary posters they can use glogsters to review the play. Make e-books...record themselves and videos on the glogster. Students can use it to introduce themselves to the class.

Teacher asks students to create a travel commercial for locations they are studying in social studies. Students are asked to use pictures, information, and music they find that is appropriate for each location. Students would need to check Creative Commons guidelines for appropriate use of the pictures, information, or music in their project.

This might serve as a good mini-lesson or a series of mini-lessons.
